The Flagstick Two-Ball Championship was a newly created event for the 2022 season with the goal of establishing a competitive, yet unique event. The format was chosen to create a fun atmosphere for all competitors, while still providing the level of competition that even the best amateur players crave.

The inaugural tournament was a rousing success with players attending from as far away as Windsor and Timmins, Ontario.

Adam Folco (Brockville CC) and Phil Patterson (Prescott GC) established a big lead on day one of the inaugural Flagstick Two-Ball Championship and would not let up as they coasted to victory at the Brockville Country Club.

“We putted well. We made a lot of putts and not a lot of mistakes,” commented Folco who is a 7-time club champion at Brockville Country Club. “We didn’t make a double bogey all weekend long,” he added. “It was a fun tournament.”

Winners were also declared in two other divisions, truly making this a tournament for all levels of golfers.

We are extremely excited to have a number of great partners involved with this event, which helps us put together an exceptional registration gift program and outstanding prize table for our all our competitors.

As with any golf tournament, the venue is as important as the event itself and Brockville Country Club has stepped up to be the annual host club. It is the perfect style of golf course…challenging, fair, and offering variety in set-up.

THE EVENT

The target is to have a maximum of 60 teams in 4 divisions playing over 36 holes. The overall championship winners will have their names placed on the Stanley Thompson Trophy. All divisions play separately but over the same two days play the same format from the same custom event set-up (all divisions play the same tees).

THE FORMAT

Two-Person Combined Team/Stableford Scoring - There will be four divisions divided according to the final field size and based on the combined index. All Teams will play the same tees and all teams will compete for the overall title regardless of their division. This is a gross score event, once you have been divided into your division you are posting a gross team score and will compete in your division as well as for the overall title. Each player on a team earns Stableford points for their gross score and it is combined with their teammates' points to create their final team score. There will be an overall Champion Team and there will also be division champions. Players MUST have a valid Golf Canada index to participate in the tournament. This event is for amateurs only.
